FAQs: Klock Werks Custom Steel Fenders

Materials + Paint

No, our fenders are not painted. They will arrive coated with a black electro-static coating – also known as e-coat. E-coat minimizes bodywork and continues to resist rust and corrosion evenafterit’s painted. There is no way we would sell a steel fender without it!

We cannot paint your fender. However, we have great partners we highly recommend you contact.

Absolutely not! We take pride in the fact that every single one of our fenders are stamped from 14-gauge steel using precision, deep-draw stamping technology. The steel is even rigid enough to act as a fork brace for the front end of your bike.

Most OEM fenders use lighter, cheaper materials that can crack or warp over time. Klock Werks uses 14-gauge stamped steel, which provides superior structural rigidity. It won't shatter from road debris and actually acts as a fork brace, improving the stability and handling of your front end.

Read more about why steel fenders are better.

Every Klock Werks fender undergoes an electro-static coating (e-coat) process. This isn't just a primer; it’s a protective barrier that seals the metal inside and out against rust and corrosion. For you, it means the fender arrives painter-ready with a smooth surface that requires minimal bodywork, saving you time and money at the paint shop.

To maintain the "show-room" shine and protect your paint, we recommend regular cleaning with Shine Werks motorcycle detailing products. Because of the e-coat foundation, your fender is already highly resistant to rust, but keeping it free of road salt and grime will ensure your custom paint job lasts for years.

Fitment + Hardware

We eliminate the guesswork through 5-axis laser technology. Our fenders are designed specifically for most Harley-Davidson® and Indian® models. Instead of universal drilling, you simply select your bike model and tire size (from 16” to 21”). The fitment is a direct bolt-on, matching your factory mounting points exactly.

Before sending to paint, always make sure to test fit your fender to avoid a serious WHOOPS with painting expenses.

Yes, all mounting holes are pre-cut using 5-axis laser technology for accurate fitment and bolt-on ease.

While our fenders align with factory points, we recommend our billet aluminum Mounting Blocks. These are machined to ensure perfect spacing and a "clean" look by eliminating unsightly rivets. They are available individually or as part of a Fender Fit Kit, which includes everything you need for a seamless installation.

Yes. We offer a specific Big Wheel Front Fender family designed to accommodate oversized wheels while maintaining a slim, low profile. Whether you’re running a 19” or a 21” wheel, we have a stamped steel option that contours perfectly to the tire for that "slammed" custom look.

To make installation even easier, some of our fenders are packaged with the fender, mounting blocks, and hardware all in one box! If it says ‘Fit Kit’ in the product title – it’ll include everything you need.

If you are not buying a Fit Kit, make sure you order fender mounting blocks!

No, you cannot directly hydro drip our fenders because of the e-coating. The fender will need to be prepped, sanded, primed, base coat painted, hydro dipped then clear coated.

Yes! If it has not been installed or damaged, you are able to return your fender.
