Build Breakdown: “Hinto” Blue Chief Vicla

When “Pumpkin Spice” was finished, there was no question it belonged to Vanessa Klock. So Brian set out to build a worthy companion—an Indian Chief Classic in Springfield Blue, a rare and iconic color. “Hinto” was born, blending west coast flair with timeless Vicla lines.

A Custom 2014 Indian Chief Classic

When the build on “Pumpkin Spice,” Vanessa Klock’s orange Vicla, was complete, it was clear she’d be its forever rider. Naturally, Brian Klock wanted a matching machine of his own. His choice? A 2014 Indian® Chief Classic in Springfield Blue, a rare, one-year-only color that marked the beginning of Indian Motorcycle’s Polaris era and honored the brand’s original home in Springfield.

The hunt was on. Brian eventually tracked down a low-mileage Chief in the perfect shade of blue.

Pete “Hot Dog” Finlan, one of the legendary painters from West Coast Choppers, asked if he could lay down the next Klock Werks Vicla. Brian jumped at the opportunity. “These bikes are plentiful and priced right,” Brian explained. “They weren’t as popular without saddlebags, but they really show off those slanted fenders and classic lines. I knew it would be a timeless heirloom for our family.”

Nicknamed “Hinto”, Lakota for “blue”, this bike would ride alongside Vanessa’s Vicla as its perfect counterpart. Brian gave Hot Dog full creative freedom on the paint, and the result was nothing short of stunning.

The build included front and rear Vic Baggers Suspension Air Ride, complete with a center stand. A set of Freedom Exhaust fishtails gave it the right sound and look. Add in Kuryakyn chrome accents, a Mustang seat, and whitewall tires, and the stance took care of itself. The Klock Krew even fabricated a set of 19” KlipHanger Handlebars in-house to round out the simple-but-striking build.

"It rides so smooth, just fun," Brian said.

The finishing touches gave it real soul. A traditional tool roll, custom-made in Texas by Tony, was mounted on the handlebars. The 3.5" front rim was laced to the stock hub for a clean, custom look.

“Hinto,” has been featured in the Drag Specialties catalog and several industry publications. It was even immortalized in a painting by artist Ed Tillrock, gifted to Brian for his birthday. Today, that artwork hangs proudly on his office wall.

This Vicla isn’t just a showpiece, it’s a legacy. Built to be passed down, built to ride.
