Build Breakdown: Allan Crow's 2025 Indian® Chieftain PowerPlus

When Allan Crow picked up the very first 2025 Indian® Chieftain PowerPlus from Sturgis Indian®, his first stop was Klock Werks. What started as a chance to test fit new parts quickly turned into a custom touring build that saw thousands of real-world miles across America.

A Custom 2025 Indian® Chieftain PowerPlus

When Allan Crow picked up his 2025 Indian® Chieftain PowerPlus from Sturgis Indian®, he became one of the first to take delivery of the new motorcycle from the dealership. But before the bike had miles on it, Allan already knew where it was headed next.

As tradition, his first stop was Klock Werks in Mitchell, South Dakota.

New motorcycles always create new opportunities around the shop. New fitments, new ideas, new products to develop. Allan's Chieftain PowerPlus quickly became the perfect platform for all of it.

Built for Comfort and Real Miles

The first changes focused on comfort for long rides. The team installed an extended reach Ergo Handlebar to help Allan stay more upright and comfortable in the saddle. Changing wrist position can make a huge difference on long rides and improving overall riding posture by relieving shoulder blade pressure.

Of course, the team wanted to test fit the new Flare® Windshield for the PowerPlus configuration. With its extended wings and electronic adjustability, the Flare® continues to set the standard for Indian® motorcycle comfort accessories. Now available in all offerings from real to Ice, Red would set the tone for Allan's new custom motorcycle.

Style and Kolor Take Over

Next on the list was style. Allan wanted a Hugger Series Front Fender. The engineering team went to work adapting the brackets to fit the new inverted fork setup on the 2025 model. Once everything was dialed in, the fitment was ready for production.

Klock Werks recently released Flare® Hand Guards for Harley-Davidson® models, so adapting the idea for Indian® motorcycles only made sense. Allan's build became the perfect project to help move development forward, and just wait...those parts will be coming to the market soon!

When it came time for color, Brian talked Allan into stepping outside his comfort zone a little...okay a lot!

Allan tends to gravitate toward black trucks, motorcycles, and cars. Instead, the team started with a chrome-option bike and handed things over to Cliff Anderson Designs in the Minneapolis area to cut loose with graphics and color. The tone was set for Red Candy to match the red Flare® Windshield.

The result? A completely transformed motorcycle.

The custom paint arrived just days before Allan was preparing to leave for the Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America, which raises money for Victory Junction Camp in Randleman, North Carolina. The camp helps children with disabilities and serious illnesses, making the ride about much more than motorcycles alone.

For performance and sound, the team turned to a factory Indian® Stage 1 Performance Air Cleaner paired with an S&S Cycle stainless 2-into-1 exhaust system.  The setup gave the motorcycle a deep, throaty rumble while keeping the bike comfortable and rideable for long-distance touring. "Which now Allan has decided to polish," Brian laughed. "More on that in the next phase." Because projects like this are never really finished.

Testing the Build Across America

Most custom motorcycles ease into life slowly. Allan's went straight into a 3,400-mile test. Over the course of nine days, Allan rode across 11 states from California to North Carolina alongside roughly 150 motorcycles during the Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America. It became the perfect proving ground for the entire build.

The team at Mustang Seats sent out a brand new touring seat with a backrest before the ride began. After all the miles in the saddle, the setup proved itself every mile of the way.

The crew at Hollister Powersports also came through with Heavy Metal Gray lowers that were delivered directly to Allan's hotel in Sonoma, California. The added protection helped fend off cold mornings and rainy conditions throughout the trip.

His phone stayed securely mounted on his Klock Werks iOmounts® Ambidextrous handlebar phone mount throughout the entire ride.

A New Favorite Bike

After 3,400 miles, changing weather, and nine straight days on the road, Allan rode away impressed.

"This is definitely my new favorite motorcycle. It handles so well, people love the color and so do I. Thanks Klock Werks team!"

Luckily for Allan, the Klock Werks team doesn't need much of a reason to take on a special build or start developing new parts.

And this 2025 Indian® Chieftain PowerPlus gave them plenty of reasons.
