At Klock Werks, we know that the best products are built with riders and not just for them. That’s why, when we set out to design a Flare® Windshield for BMW® RT motorcycles, we teamed up with a trusted voice in the riding community: Mark Brown and the MotoMark1 training school.
MotoMark1 isn’t your average riding school. Founded in 2002, their mission is to turn “ordinary riders into extraordinary drivers.” From the start, they focused on advanced “motor officer style” training, and today they are the only school in North Carolina to use instructor-to-student communication and video-enhanced critique. Their reach is wide training riders for the Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America, working with the New York Special Operations Unit, teaching specialized techniques in South America, and even creating a sport bike course for Pope Air Force Base.
So, when Mark Brown offered his expertise and fleet of BMW® motorcycles to help shape our newest Flare®, we knew we had the right partner.
From Prototype to Proven Performance
The collaboration started with shared curiosity and a willingness to experiment. Mark and his team at MotoMark1 tested prototype shields on their 2016 BMW® R 1200 RTP police bikes, drilling, modifying, and mounting them to find the right fit. They provided our engineers with critical feedback on shape, mounting points, and performance.
This real-world testing was invaluable. MotoMark1’s instructors put the windshields through a wide range of scenarios like low-speed city work, highway stretches, and police-style training courses. Their feedback was honest, detailed, and exactly what our R&D team needed to refine the final design.

Mark’s own words say it best:
“Wow!! If you’re looking for a minimalist windscreen with the best protection look no further!! I had the opportunity to try this in low speed city, country backroads and interstate highway speeds. Excellent air bubble of protection in all situations. I wear a modular helmet and was able to ride with the face shield up and felt no buffeting or bugs. The windscreen took all the bugs and I was very impressed with the wind protection at various speeds. This Klock Werks windscreen looks great and is so functional. MotoMark1 will put this on all their bikes regardless of brand. Brian and his team have done their homework and it shows in the performance of this windscreen. I highly recommend this.”
That kind of testimony doesn’t come from casual rides - it comes from riders who depend on performance, day in and day out.
A Partnership Built on Integrity and Passion
For Mark and MotoMark1, training isn’t just about skill, it's about safety, integrity, and making riders better prepared for anything the road throws at them. That same philosophy drives us at Klock Werks. We don’t just build windshields; we build solutions that keep riders confident, comfortable, and in control.
MotoMark1 now outfits their training fleet, BMWs and Harleys alike, with Flare® Windshields. To us, that’s the highest compliment a partner can give. It means our work stood up to the test in one of the toughest proving grounds possible.

Built With Riders, For Riders
The Flare® Windshield for BMW® RT motorcycles is more than just a product, it’s the result of a collaboration fueled by passion and tested by experts who ride hard and teach harder.
Whether you’re logging cross-country miles or sharpening your skills on a training course, this Flare® is engineered to keep you riding longer, with more comfort, less noise, and reduced turbulence.
